This serious red wine is a Merlot based Grand Cru from St. Emilion in Bordeaux. Château Pipeau was produced in the stellar 2015 vintage – the best since 2005. This means it can be enjoyed now (I recommend using a decanter first) or safely cellar for 10-12 years. As a bonus, it scored 93 points in the famous Decanter World Wine Awards and has attractive, distinctive packaging.

With its soft berry aromas, flavours and firm tannins, it pairs perfectly with red meats, duck, rich risotto, Camembert cheese and roasted mushrooms.
