One of my favourite standbys, Château Joinin 2016, is back in stock – just in time for this BBQ season! With a name like Joinin, it is easier to remember than many wines from this area.
This is a Bordeaux red wine from the St. Emilion area. The same producer makes Château Pipeau Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, a VINTAGES Essential and a popular customer favourite.
Château Joinin 2016 is fresh and dry. It is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the two grapes well suited to the area. The wine was produced in stainless steel, and it shows. It has fresh aromas with juicy berry flavours. It has a soft, balanced texture and a silky finish. You can safely store it for a few years. If you don’t have the patience for that, you could decant it before serving!
It was released earlier this month in VINTAGES, and at $14.95, it will not last long!
Serve this versatile food-friendly wine with a wide variety of foods such as, barbecued steaks, lamb, duck and grilled vegetables.
A votre santé!
